Quick answer: Most Indian businesses pay ₹8,000–₹25,000 a month for a local SEO package, ₹25,000–₹60,000 a month for a growth package targeting national searches, and ₹75,000 to ₹3,00,000+ a month for large e-commerce or enterprise SEO. Add 18% GST if the agency is GST-registered. The price matters less than what’s in the package: how much content, which links, what technical work, and how results are reported.
This guide covers what each price band usually includes, what pushes the price up, and the red flags in cheap packages. It also shows how to compare two SEO quotes fairly. Digital Arka’s own SEO packages are listed with their prices, so you have a real benchmark.
SEO package prices in India at a glance
| Package level | Typical monthly price | Who it suits | What’s usually included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local SEO | ₹8,000–₹25,000 | Clinics, shops, local services with 1–2 locations | Google Business Profile optimisation, local citations, on-page fixes for core pages, review strategy, monthly report |
| Starter / small business | ₹15,000–₹30,000 | Small sites with 10–20 important pages | Technical audit and fixes, on-page optimisation, 2–4 content pieces a month, basic link building |
| Growth | ₹30,000–₹60,000 | Growing brands targeting national or competitive keywords | Everything above, 6–10 content pieces a month, outreach-based link building, schema, conversion tracking, fortnightly calls |
| Enterprise / e-commerce | ₹75,000–₹3,00,000+ | Large catalogues, multi-location brands, marketplaces | Dedicated team, category and template optimisation, digital PR, log-file analysis, migration support |
Ranges exclude GST. They come from the prices published by Indian agencies that rank for this search (November 2026), with outliers removed.
What a good SEO package should include
Whatever the price, a monthly package should cover these five areas. If a quote doesn’t mention one of them, ask why.
- Technical SEO: crawl and indexing fixes, site speed (Core Web Vitals), XML sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, structured data. The first month usually goes on an audit and the biggest fixes.
- On-page optimisation: titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and content updates on the pages that bring enquiries. Not just the homepage.
- Content: new pages or articles each month that answer what your buyers search. The package should state a number (for example, 4 pieces a month) and who writes them.
- Authority building: links and brand mentions from real, relevant websites. A small number of editorial links is worth more than hundreds of directory or bookmarking links.
- Reporting: organic traffic, leads or sales from organic search, and rankings for keywords that matter, with access to your own Google Search Console and GA4 data.
For local businesses, add Google Business Profile work: categories, services, photos, posts, review replies and consistent name, address and phone details across listings.
In 2026, many packages also include AI search visibility (AEO/GEO): structuring content so Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity can quote it, and tracking whether your brand is cited. It’s worth asking for. Just don’t accept it as a replacement for the basics above.
What decides the price of an SEO package
- Competition. Ranking a dental clinic in Rohini for “dentist near me” takes far less work than ranking a national insurance comparison site.
- Site size. A 10-page service site and a 5,000-product store need very different amounts of technical and on-page work.
- Content volume. Content is usually the biggest cost inside a package. Eight well-researched articles a month cost more than two.
- Link-building method. Outreach, digital PR and guest content take hours of manual work. Automated directory submissions are cheap and add little.
- Number of locations. Each city or branch needs its own Google Business Profile work and often its own landing page.
- Starting point. A site with penalties, a messy migration or thousands of duplicate pages needs a clean-up before growth work begins.
- Reporting and access. Fortnightly calls, dedicated strategists and custom dashboards add to the monthly fee.
Red flags in cheap SEO packages
An SEO package under ₹5,000 a month can’t pay for real research, writing or outreach. These are the warning signs at any price:
- “Guaranteed #1 ranking.” Nobody controls Google’s rankings. Google’s own guidance warns against SEOs that guarantee rankings.
- Keyword count as the headline. “50 keywords” means little if they’re keywords nobody searches or that don’t bring buyers.
- “100 backlinks a month.” Volume link packages usually mean bookmarking, profile and directory links that won’t help and can hurt.
- No content in the package. Without new or improved content, rankings rarely move for competitive terms.
- No access to your data. You should own your Search Console, GA4 and Google Business Profile accounts. The agency gets access, not ownership.
- Long lock-ins with no exit. A 6–12 month commitment is common because SEO takes time. Make sure the contract also lets you leave if the agreed work isn’t delivered.
- Reports that show only rankings. Rankings without traffic, enquiries or sales can hide a campaign that isn’t working.
How to compare two SEO quotes
Put both quotes into the same table, monthly and per deliverable. Here is an example:
| Agency A | Agency B | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | ₹12,000 | ₹30,000 |
| Content | None stated | 4 articles a month (≈1,500 words each) |
| Links | “100 backlinks” (directories, bookmarking) | 5 editorial links from relevant sites |
| Technical work | “Basic on-page” | Audit plus monthly fixes, schema, speed |
| Reporting | Ranking PDF | Traffic, leads, rankings; GSC/GA4 access |
| Contract | 12 months, no exit clause | Month-to-month after setup |
Agency A looks cheaper. But Agency B is the only one doing the content and authority work that moves rankings. Per useful deliverable, it’s the better buy. Ask both agencies for a written scope that lists monthly deliverables, so you can make this comparison.
Questions to ask before you sign:
- What exactly will you deliver in months 1, 2 and 3?
- Who writes the content, and can I review it before it goes live?
- Where will links come from? Can you show examples from past work?
- Which metrics will you report, and will I have my own GSC and GA4 access?
- What happens to the content and work if I cancel?
How long does SEO take to show results?
Expect technical fixes to take effect within weeks, early movement on low-competition keywords in 2–3 months, and meaningful lead growth in 4–6 months. Competitive national terms often take 6–12 months. Local SEO for a business with an optimised Google Business Profile tends to move faster than national SEO.
That’s why most agencies ask for at least a few months of commitment, and why a month-by-month plan in writing matters.
Monthly SEO vs one-time SEO
| Option | Typical use | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| One-time SEO audit + fixes | Fixed project | New websites, redesigns or migrations, sites with clear technical problems |
| Monthly SEO package | Ongoing retainer | Businesses that want to grow traffic and leads from search over time |
| Specialist package (on-page, off-page or technical only) | Monthly or project | Businesses with an in-house team that needs help in one area |
A one-time audit fixes problems that exist today. It doesn’t create new content or build authority, which is where most long-term growth comes from.

Frequently asked questions
Is a ₹5,000 a month SEO package worth it? Rarely. At that price there’s no budget for real content or outreach, so the work tends to be automated submissions. For a very small local business, a one-time Google Business Profile and on-page setup is usually better value.
Is GST charged on SEO services? Yes. SEO services are taxed at 18% GST when the agency is GST-registered. GST-registered businesses can generally claim it as input tax credit.
How much does local SEO cost in India? Usually ₹8,000–₹25,000 a month per location, depending on competition and how much content and review work is included.
How many keywords should an SEO package cover? Don’t buy by keyword count. A good package targets the keyword groups behind each of your main services and pages, then expands from there based on what brings enquiries.
Can I do SEO myself instead? You can handle the basics: Google Business Profile, page titles, regular content. Technical fixes, link building and competitive keyword work usually need specialist time.
